Working alongside Rapid Test Digital Ltd and their world class optical and magnetic sensor design team we developed a completely bespoke test unit designed to meet demanding price and accuracy requirements.

Through iterative design and prototyping we developed the enclosure, stick and internal mechanism.

Removing Human Error

The device can accommodate any number of supported LFAs by an NFC cartridge recognition system which automates the selection of the sensing software. It can be operated professionally or by the minimally trained, such as in workplace screening applications.

Design by Datum created 3D models which we first made 3D Printed SLS prototypes for before further refinement & creation of vacuum casted models in order to go through testing to gain certification for the medical industry.

The vacuum cast prototypes allowed us to see mechanical performance & aesthetic qualities all in one, with repeatability at lower cost than 3D printing for multiple sets.
